Has anyone else noticed that CCP removed the really neat sound effects that the ship engines made when using the MWD and AB? After this new rubicon 1.1 crap, there is no longer any propulsion sounds....
I know many eve players have zero imagination and play completely zoomed out and with the sound off, but those of us who like to get into a game and have a thought process beyond the level of a brick actually enjoy those types of additions.
So whats the deal? Anyone else notice this, and is it a bug or intentionally removed? |

Why play a game like that? No sound? No effects? No graphics? Zoomed all the way out? I dont even get the concept of how anyone gets any enjoyment out of that at all. But I dont want to get off topic |

I saw a dev post somewhere stating they removed all the extra sounds because of the bad reception it had during release.
I swear, it is the playerbase that is slowly killing this game. The core eve fanbase refuses to have any flavor added to the game. They complain and cry and riot if anything interesting gets added, until CCP removes it. |

I didn't even know there WAS a sound effect for prop mods tbh.
Honestly, if your entire gameplay experience is summed up with no sound and completely zoomed out, never looking at the breath taking visuals and sci-fi world/effects that make eve what it is, then you are not experiencing even close to what the game has to offer. This new generation has literally had imagination beaten out of them |

This new generation has literally had imagination beaten out of them the funny thing about your rant is, its allmost true, if only you reverse it. the fact that people can find pure enjoyment in EVE without sound and beeing zoomed all the way in on their shiny ships, would kinda dictate that, that is the crowd with the imagination, and YOU as a part of the "new generation" as you put it, are the ones that need "breath taking visuals and sci-fi world/effects" shoved down your throat to enjoy the game. PLEASE, your high horse, get off it...
The part about your response that makes me call bullshit is the fact that those of you who play zoomed out with no sound, ect, dont do it because you have imagination, you do it because you could not care less about getting drawn into the game. You dont care to roleplay or feel apart of the game. Your only motive for logging in is e-peen and feeling like you are winning at something. When the eye candy crowd play with their graphics and high settings, we enjoy it because it strokes our imagination and draws us in, makes us feel a part of a living breathing virtual world. Those types of thoughts dont enter your mind when you play because you lack imagination, and therefore could not care less about any of that. Thats the only logical explanation.
As for situational awareness, yes I have plenty, its called an overview, which displays what and at what range I am targetting. I dont need to zoom out to see that. In fact, imo you are losing out on situational awarness when you cant see the hull of your own ship. |

Angelica Dreamstar wrote:Also funny how the OP is literally a victim of lack of imagination, without realising that lesser information given equals to more information put in by the brain aka imagination. You're daft. Whining about how others play and at the same time use words you don't even really understand.
TL;DR: The more sensory information is provided, the less imagination is needed. OP is daft.
As I said, the fact that you play zoomed out and with no sound has nothing to do with your ability to imagine anything. You play that way because you dont care about being immersed in the game. You dont care about sounds and visuals. All you care about is socializing with your buddies and e-peen. Many of us with imaginations play eve because of the sci-fi setting that you cant really get anywehre else to such a degree. Spaceships, and lasers, and that kind of neat crap. It makes us feel a part of a virtual sci-fi world.
Point is, dont try and say u play zoomed out with no sound because u have imagination. The truth is, you just dont care about any of that..... |
